Certain numbers of syllables are combined in order to generate words.

Korean alphabet was established in 1944 with the support of Great King Sejong and it became official in 1446. Before that, people were using Chinese alphabet. After the Hangeul alphabet was started to be used in 15th century, people have had an opportunity to learn Korean easily. There are 14 consonants and 10 vowels in Hangeul alphabet.
