Hindi is spoken by more than 260 million of Hindu and it is the official language of India, the 2nd most crowded country with 1.2 billion of population. Hindi is an Aryan language. And the official language of Hindi government since 1991.
Sanskrit was the intensely spoken language in India geographical area years ago, but in time more than 1000 languages appeared in different regions with the impact of Arabic and Persian. According to census in 2001, 122 native languages and 1.599 different languages were determined in India. Among them, the languages with more than 1 million speakers are 30 and with more than 10 thousand speakers are 122.

Hindi and many local languages are written with Devanagari alphabet. Also, Hindi is very similar to Urdu, the official language of Pakistan. Urdu in Pakistan is written with Arabic alphabet, whereas Devanagari Alphabet is used in Hindi. Devanagari alphabet is a syllable alphabet just like Japanese and each symbol represents a syllable, in other words, a sound. All of the symbols have a horizontal line on their top (Example: नमस्कार).
